Why is cold-processed better?
All creams start with two phases: a water phase and an oil phase. These two phases do not naturally mix. To mix the two phases requires an emulsifier. The emulsifier has a water-loving head and an oil-loving tail. To mix the two often requires heating the two phases at high temperatures. This requires a lot of energy. Most emulsifiers used in conventional creams are petroleum sourced so they can be irritating to the skin and toxic for the environment. We use unique biobased blend composed of French sea-lettuce that allows us to develop our lotions without applying heat. This helps save energy while preserving the natural goodness of our products and the planet.
